Welcome to Kona Whale Watch

[content]

Last updated on March 24, 2008.

This site contains general information about Hawaii's cetaceans and more specific information on humpback whales off the Kona Coast of Hawaii.

You will have to pardon the lack of guestbook as it was overwhelmed daily by dozens and dozens of ads (some offensive) deposited there by automated "bots" that cruise the web looking for guestbooks to mess with. Because of this, the guestbook page has been disabled. I am seeking solutions and may resurrect it in the future.

The official 2008 season started in mid December and we had much better sitings this year. The reason? A new boat with three times the speed and range. This gave us the ability to cover a MUCH larger area in three hours and gave us extended viewing opportunities by minimizing travel time. The whales' first Kona coast siting for the year happened on November 13th off the Royal Kona Resort. We've had a great year and there will be a lot of new photos and videos going up soon.
